Energy Environmental Protection primarily publishes scholarly articles in basic and technical research, as well as interdisciplinary studies related to energy environmental protection. It focuses on the most pressing, central and challenging issues in the field of energy and environment. To ensure that your manuscript proceeds smoothly through the review process, please pay attention to the following points:
1. To enhance the connection between our journal and each author and their supervisors, please register all authors of your manuscript on our website, especially your supervisors. The names, gender, age, professional titles, office phone numbers, mobile numbers, email addresses, institutions, detailed mailing addresses, and specific research directions of all authors should be provided at the time of registration. If the author you need to add is already registered in our system, please select them directly without duplicating registrations.
2. Please revise your manuscript according to the "Manuscript Template" available in the Download Center. Ensure that your manuscript is the final version before proceeding to online submission.
3. During the submission, it is necessary to recommend one or two experts in the relevant field, providing details such as the experts' research directions, contact numbers, emails, institutions, and titles to help the editorial department understand the author's academic communication status within the field. Please note that the experts you recommend may not necessarily be appointed as reviewers for your manuscript. Reviewers will be selected by the editorial department based on the manuscript's research direction, potential conflicts of interest, and other relevant factors to ensure that the most suitable experts are chosen for the review process.
4. Manuscripts must not contain confidential information. If the manuscript is the result of a classified research project, the author should guarantee that confidentiality review and approval procedures have been completed at their institution before submission.
5. The journal has signed a cooperative agreement with China Academic Journals (CD Edition) Electronic Publishing House to publish Online First Articles via the CAJ-N platform. Starting from January 1, 2023, all manuscripts reviewed and accepted by the journal are published as Online First Articles simultaneously on our official website and the CAJ-N database. The final versions of record will be published at a later date, depending on the editorial arrangement, and will be included in the print edition of the journal.
1. Submission
Please submit your manuscript through the online submission system at the journal website (http://www.eep1987.com). The review process includes preliminary review by the editorial department, peer review by experts, secondary review by the editorial department and final review by the Editor-in-Chief. Once the manuscript is accepted, the author will be required to pay a publication fee. Articles that accepted by the journal are scheduled for publication in the order they are received.
2. Review Process
Our journal strictly implements the following review process: preliminary review by the editorial department, peer review by experts, secondary review by the editorial department, final review by the Editor-in-Chief. For detailed information about the review process, please refer to the page of Review Process on this website.
For manuscripts that require revision, please make corrections in the revision mode and respond to each review comment individually. Revised manuscripts should ideally be returned as soon as possible, preferably within one month. If you cannot submit the revised manuscript within two months, please provide an explanation to the editorial department. Manuscripts not resubmitted within two months will be automatically withdrawn.
The entire review process (including the preliminary review, peer review, secondary review and final review) typically takes one month, and should not exceed two months. If the review process exceeds this schedule, authors are free to submit their manuscripts to other publications.
3. Automatic Rejection
The journal will automatically reject manuscripts under the following circumstances:
(1) Manuscripts that significantly fail to meet the journal's formatting requirements, contain many errors, or have problems such as poor writing and non-standard figures.
(2) Manuscripts with a high similarity index.
(3) Manuscripts that have not been returned to the editorial department within two months after the revision request was issued.
(4) Manuscripts for which the publication fee has not been paid one month after the fee notification was sent.
4. Author Withdrawal
Authors have the right to withdraw their manuscript at any stage of the review process. If the agreed review time is exceeded, the author may consult or urge the review process; but within the agreed time limit, multiple submissions are not allowed. If a manuscript is found to have been simultaneously submitted elsewhere within the agreed timeframe, the journal will notify peer journals of the situation and will not accept submissions from the author(s) for a period of five years.
5. Fee Information
(1) After an article is published in the journal, the editorial department will pay the author a one-time remuneration, which includes copyright transfer fee, and provides two copies of the issue in which the article is published.
(2) Publication Fee: Once a manuscript is accepted, authors are required to pay a publication fee. The fee for manuscripts up to four pages is CNY 1500. For each page exceeding four pages, an additional CNY 200 per page will be charged. Articles containing color illustrations or photographs will incur an additional color printing fee of CNY 200 per page.
(3) There are no review fees or other charges required for authors.
1. Submissions should have a clear theme, well-defined arguments, reliable evidence, rigorous discussion, and concise language. Submissions should not contain confidential information. Authorship should be undisputed.
2. A complete scholarly manuscript, including figures and references, should consist of: title, author names, author affiliations (in full name), abstracts in both Chinese and English (300~600 words), keywords (5~8), main body, references, and a brief biography of the first author and corresponding author. This biography should include name, year of birth, gender, place of origin, professional title, degree, area of specialty or research direction, and email address of the author. If the manuscript is supported by a provincial-level or higher fund project, please mention the name and number of the fund project at the footer of the first page of the manuscript (no more than three projects). Manuscripts should be formatted in Word with A4 double-column layout. Review articles should ideally be between 10,000 and 15,000 words, while research articles should be between 6,000 and 12,000 words.
3. The abstract should be written according to "GB 6647-1986 Rules for Abstracts and Abstracting", and include the research purpose, subjects, methods, process, and main conclusions. A report-style abstract is preferred. It is recommended to use the following format: "Using [method/technique], [subject] was studied for [purpose], and the results showed: [main findings]." The abstract should highlight the novelty and uniqueness of the manuscript and use data where possible, avoiding subjective assumptions.
4. The introduction should be between 600 and 1,000 words and should not include illustrations, lists, or derivations of mathematical formulas. It should primarily introduce the research background, the progress made by scholars in the field both domestically and internationally, and the novelty of the manuscript compared to other studies, citing necessary references. The recommended structure is: research background, current research status and problems, and novelty and purpose of this research.
5. All figures and tables should be accurate, concise, clear, and standardized, avoiding redundancy in the information presented. Color printing is required for photos, numerical simulations, and characterization figures. Overly complex figures should be simplified, and non-photographic images should have a white background. Line graphs should have clear legends and correct physical quantity/unit notation on the axes. Tables should generally use a three-line format, and the content in figures and tables should not be duplicated in the text. Names of figures and tables must be provided in both Chinese and English.
6. It is appropriate to include more than 20 references. Reference numbers should be arranged in the order they appear in the text, marked with Arabic numerals in square brackets [ ] in the top right corner. Reference citations should be specific and not vague (e.g., not [1-8]). References can include journal articles, dissertations, monographs, patents, conference proceedings, etc., but not unpublished internal materials. Chinese journal references should include their English counterparts (Note: The English counterpart is content provided by the Chinese journal itself and the authors are not required to translate it themselves). Please refer to "GB/T 7714-2015 Information and documentation-Rules for bibliographic references and citations to information resources " for the format of references.
